icon About the MAIRC

Founded on January 31, 1994, the Mainland Affairs Information and Research Center (MAIRC) is a special library archiving publications on Mainland China and cross-Strait relations. The center provides reference materials for MAC administration, and is open to the public for academic research and study use on cross-Strait issues.

iconCollections

The MAIRC collections include over 25,000 books; over 100 titles of domestic and international periodicals; and online databases of E-books, news, journals, almanacs, laws and regulations, etc. The materials are acquired through purchase from and exchange with domestic and foreign libraries, government agencies, think tanks, and academic institutions.

iconLibrary Partnership

The library is a member of Library Association of the Republic of China, National Bibliographic Information Network (NBINet), Interlibrary Cooperation Association, and Taiwan OCLC Governing Members Consortium.

MAC readers may read on-site; check out materials; or request photocopies, loans, printed, and digital materials from partner libraries.

A list of new arrivals is announced monthly on the MAIRC website.

iconMAC Publication Requests

Digital MAC publication can be downloaded for free from the MAC website.
Printed MAC publication can be purchased from the Government Publications Bookstore.

iconSelf-service Copy (Printing & Photocopy)

Reference materials can be printed (with on-site payment) or photocopied (with a copy card). Copy cards can be purchased or borrowed from the service desk.
Readers should comply with copyright rules when making self-service copies. Copies must be made following fair-use principles, and only be used for personal instead of commercial purposes.
