The government will conduct cross-Strait affairs in accordance with the Republic of China Constitution, the Act Governing Relations Between the People of Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area, and other relevant legislation. It is also committed to maintaining the status quo of peaceful and stable cross-Strait relations and establishing consistent, predictable and sustainable cross-Strait ties based on the existing realities and political foundation. The government will also adhere to the principle of maintaining peace and sharing interests, and exchange views at all times with all parties involved on regional peace and security issues to prevent misjudgement, establish mutual trust, and resolve related disputes.
