What is the government's position on cross-Strait city exchanges?

Ans: (1) The government takes a positive attitude on cross-Strait exchanges at the city and local levels, and considers positive interaction between cities on the two sides to be conducive to promoting mutual understanding and enhancing cross-Strait social interaction and the economic, trade, cultural, tourism, and other developments at the city level. It also creates a more solid foundation for cross-Strait peace, stability and prosperity. (2) We believe that there should be no political preconditions to cross-Strait city exchanges if such exchanges are to help benign cross-Strait interactions and long-term development. The MAC will continue to pay attention to developments in cross-Strait city exchanges and strengthen contact and cooperation to facilitate the healthy and orderly development of cross-Strait exchanges at the local level.
