The Mainland China Council's (MAC's) representative office in Hong Kong (known locally as the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office) will provide visa services to the public from its new address at Central Plaza, Hong Kong from December 20, 2021 (Monday). The services will include passport replacement (renewal) and document verification for Taiwan nationals; processing of Taiwan visa applications and other consular services for foreign nationals; and Taiwan Entry Permits for Hong Kong residents coming to Taiwan for residency and mainland Chinese residents in Hong Kong. The 49th floor Central Plaza address will serve as the office for Service, Liaison, General Affairs, and News and Cultural Affairs divisions.
The representative office in Hong Kong adjusted operational and handling methods on June 21 this year due to developments in Hong Kong and currently conducts operations in Hong Kong as usual. It will strive to maintain related services and continue to safeguard the rights and interests of the people of Taiwan and Hong Kong.
