The Mainland has not Specifically Explained the Case of Li Ming-che; The MAC Renotifies the TAO to Express Regret and Dissatisfaction and Demand a Prompt Response and Notification

The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) stated that mainland China's Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO) made no specific explanation on the closely-watched case of Li Ming-che at its press conference on April 26, 2017. On the same day, the MAC renotified the TAO to express the government's regret and dissatisfaction, as well as to solemnly demand that the Mainland promptly disclose to the public the truth, promptly explain Li Ming-che's place of detention, provide notification through the official channels, and agree to family visits as soon as possible.

Regarding Mr. Li Ming-che's physical condition, the MAC indicated that it also notified the TAO on April 26 to demand that the Mainland truly protect Mr. Li's personal safety, provide proper medical care, and protect Mr. Li's due rights and interests.

The MAC stressed that the relevant government agencies will continue working in cooperation with Mr. Li's family and other parties and take active assistance measures to help Mr. Li Ming-che return to Taiwan at the earliest possible date.
