Signing of a cross-strait food safety agreement

(Agreement negotiated and signed on November 4, 2008; Agreement became effective and was implemented on November 11, 2008)

On November 4, 2008, the SEF and the ARATS signed a cross-strait food safety agreement.

Benefits: This agreement aims to manage food safety to "combat substandard food, impose strict inspections, and provide safeguards" so as to uphold the health rights and interests of the people.
