Allowing the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to establish a branch in Taiwan

On October 16, 2008, the government allowed the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to establish a branch office in Taiwan, making the council the first semi-official agency of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government with an office in Taiwan. The measure marks an important step in expanding economic and trade relations between Taiwan and Hong Kong.
