On July 31, 2008, the government revised regulations to reduce the
administrative operation period for Mainland professionals applying to visit Taiwan
to one month, from two months originally, to facilitate applications by mainlanders
visiting Taiwan for exchanges.
Benefits: This measure will make it convenient for civilian organizations
to arrange exchange activities and promote benign interactions across the Taiwan
Strait.
