(Effective from November 13, 2008)
On June 30, 2008, the government announced that it would allow Mainland media
companies to station correspondents in Taiwan. On November 13, Fujian South East
Satellite TV and the Fujian Daily Group became the first two Mainland media companies
approved to take turns in stationing reporters in Taiwan to cover news events.
Benefits: This measure will expand cross-strait media exchanges
and increase recognition and understanding of Taiwan among the Mainland people.
