Q&A

Q8: What coordination mechanisms or supporting measures does the government have to help the Taiwanese people?

A: The government will closely monitor developments in Hong Kong. It will also assess related risks and duly provide relevant information to the Taiwanese public. In addition, the government will strengthen the emergency relief mechanisms and response measures of MAC’s Office of Hong Kong Affairs, such as providing legal assistance, and may consider issuing travel alerts when needed. Taiwanese nationals who run into trouble in Hong Kong can call the 24-hour emergency hotline (852-6143-9012) for assistance. MAC’s Office of Hong Kong Affairs in Hong Kong is locally known as the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office.
