What are the functions of the Office of Hong Kong Affairs under the Mainland Affairs Council?

In response to the changed status of Hong Kong in 1997, the MAC established the Hong Kong Affairs Bureau on July 1, 1997 (recently renamed locally as the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Hong Kong on July 15, 2011).In line with the restructuring of the MAC,the Bureau has been renamed as the Office of Hong Kong Affairs on July 2,2018. The Bureau incorporates all Taiwanese government agencies stationed in Hong Kong; its functions are as follows:

Service Division, Liaison Division, General Affairs Division Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Visa processing, entry and exit permit and other travel document applications, document verification, emergency assistance for Taiwanese nationals, and information collection, as well as conducting exchanges with academic and educational institutions in the Hong Kong area
Economic Division Far East Trade Service Inc. Trade,economic, and investment affairs, and data collection on Mainland market conditions
Information and Culture Division Kwang Hwa Information and Culture Center Services for cultural and media exchanges between Taiwan and Hong Kong
