Press Credentials Application for the Second Chiang-Chen Talks

The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) today announced the procedure to apply for press credentials for the Second Chiang-Chen talks. Members of the press from around the world are welcome to apply online for accreditation.

Applications will be accepted between now and 12 midnight on October 27. Application forms can be downloaded from “The Second Chiang-Chen Talks?section of the websites of the Straits Exchange Foundation (http://www.sef.org.tw), the Mainland Affairs Council (http://www.mac.gov.tw), and the Government Information Office (http://info.gio.gov.tw).

The MAC requests applicants to fill out all the pertinent information, including a contact email address, and to submit an electronic file of a recent photo, so as to facilitate the timely processing of applications. Applicants will be informed of the results by email within three days of applying. Late applications will not be accepted.
The MAC hereby stressed that foreign journalists (other than reporters based locally) reporting on the Chiang-Chen Talks must first obtain relevant travel documents. Journalists must register and collect their press credentials at the Second Chiang-Chen Talks Press Center using their approval number and a recognizable form of ID.

To assist the media in reporting on this event, the MAC, the Straits Exchange Foundation, and the Government Information Office have set aside special areas on their respective websites concerning the Second Chiang-Chen Talks to provide information on the talks and real-time information. The MAC has also set up a hotline at (886-2) 2392-8094 as a media contact and for all other enquiries.

The MAC will announce the location of the Press Center as well as time and place of registration in the near future.
