Micromovie "Most Beautiful Scenes" Presents the Truth of Cross-Strait Partnership

  • Date:2017-06-03

MAC Press Release No. 39

The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) produced a micromovie on the theme of cross-Strait marriages. Entitled "Most Beautiful Scenes," the film presents the story of a young female photography lover from mainland China who meets her future husband at a bookstore when visiting Taiwan. After marrying, the woman moves to Taiwan and runs the bookstore with her husband. She also captures in photographic images the honesty and kindness of the people and culture of Taiwan. Through her photos, she comes to understand the land of Taiwan, integrate with society, and become a part of Taiwan's "Most Beautiful Scenes."

The MAC stated that the micromovie premiered with a showing on June 3 at the Yue Yue & Co. (at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park), where many of the scenes were shot. The lead actor and actress of the movie were invited along with real life Mainland spouses to watch the film and share experience. The participants enjoyed the warmth conveyed by the film, as well as the free and cultural atmosphere of the bookstore. In fact, the bookstore has attracted many mainland Chinese tourists to browse and buy books. Ongoing exchanges between the people on both sides can increase mutual understanding, narrow the divide between the two sides, and help to broaden the dimensions of positive cross-Strait interaction.

The MAC stressed its hope that the communication power of the micromovie will plainly present the efforts made by Mainland spouses to integrate in Taiwan society. The government will also continue to actively create a more friendly environment for new residents. The film can be viewed on the MAC website (www.mac.gov.tw), YouTube, and other platforms.
