The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) indicated that Judicial Yuan president nominee Hsu Tzong-li has clearly stated that his responses during a review meeting at the Legislative Yuan yesterday (October 13, 2016) to questions regarding his past writings, interpretation of the Republic of China Constitution, and cross-Strait relations are his personal views.
The MAC stated that the new government will continue to uphold the policies and objectives laid out by President Tsai Ing-wen in her inaugural address and during the National Day celebration. It will conduct cross-Strait affairs in accordance with the R.O.C. Constitution, the Act Governing Relations Between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area, and other relevant legislation, as well as continue to promote peaceful and stable cross-Strait relations and development.
